After the growth of wafer-scale single crystal graphene in 2014, there have been several difficulties in single crystal growth of other two-dimensional materials.

Our group have successfully synthesized wafer-scale monolayer single crystal hBN film through the self-collimation of hBN grains on a liquid gold substrate.
